This photo was taken in a car park. I have created the shot by capturing half of the brick walls and half of the car park. This makes the photograph link to the theme of secrets, codes and conventions better because the wall shows a way of covering the car park to make it look less open.

This photo is taken to emphasise the size of the visuals around the lens. The right of the image is blacked out due to the shadow. The image links to the theme of secrets, codes and conventions because it creates a sense of discretion in the image because the main focus of the photograph is the tarmac road.

This photo was my favourite because it really conveys the theme of secrets. The overgrown green that borders the wooden door makes the observer think about whats behind the door. The fact that the door is in the middle of the image surrounded by green makes it the subject of the image.

I think that this photo signifies a lot. Multiple areas in this image convey different things. The mask hanging from the fence creates a sense of mystery. The model dressed in black links to this idea of mystery as his identity is difficult to identify. The location in the churchyard makes a good contrast from the situation. The idea of christianity and peace mixed with masked people and dangerous signs. This is one of my favourite images from the development as it represents the theme of closed circuit television very well. I took this image from above to attempt to mirror a real cctv camera. The texture of the photograph has been edited slightly with a bit of noise added to the picture. This creates grains so create moe blur as cctv cameras usually are noisy. |
Due to this being one of my first developing photos, I wasn't sure what to photograph. I decided to shoot this image next to a post box as it adds the the London culture theme I am trying to show throughout my project. The image is taken from a level. The model is seen to be towering over the image. The gesture in the image represents attitude which links to a lot of young people in London today. I decided to make this photo grayscale as I thought the concept of the model looking into the camera created a tense and scary approach to the photo. I really liked the natural frame and arch that was created in this photograph, it makes the viewer focus more on the model and his attitude towards the centre point of the camera. |
This photo was taken because I thought it was a great represent of mystery. I used the flash setting on my Canon 350d to light up the white garage door but edited it so the darkness faded out into the models face. So to the viewer, the masked person is barely visible. This image is very similar to the image on the right. My intensions in this photograph were to recreate my strand photo of Amber standing in front of the car, with a lot of noise added to the photograph. In this photograph, I didn't edit the original to much, however, I did lower the brightness to make the image more questionable. |
As you can see, this photo has been inverted in photoshop. I was happy with the original photo because I took the photo at a level to the road so model looks more intimidating. I inverted the image because I thought the colour scheme was very effective. As I mentioned, I tried to recreate the original photo before taking this photo. Unfortunately, the same vehicle was not placed in the same place so I couldn't recreate the image exactly. Also, I did not add enough noise to be like the original. I still think that this image is okay as the flash reflects onto the car and the masked model. |
I think that this was my favourite image form my second development as it represents the ideas of CCTV the best. Taken from a height and good angle, I managed to photograph him, creating a realistic situation for example an intruder. The natural layers of this photo is the best feature of the image. The model stands before the steel bar, however, to the viewer, you can still see the whole face. I added noise to this image but I still think I should of edited it more to recreate a recording screen to a closed circuit television screen. The colour of the brick wall in the background adds some contrast to the image also. |
I like this photo because even though it doesn't look like a typical closed circuit television camera, the model's gestures creates a sense of crime and mystery as he does not want to show his face. The location was good, I shot his photo before a row of highroad shops with not many people around. This photo was taken in the same location as the photo above but I think this photograph is a lot more sophisticated. The stairway creates a border for the image, making the end of the stairs lead up to the subject of the image, which is the model who stands at the top. The hat is effective as it makes his eyes not visible, creating an intimidating approach to the photo. |
